Memory

The mechanisms that allow an agent to retain and recall information beyond a single context window. In practice this means a combination of in-context storage (text already in the prompt), external storage (databases, files retrieved at runtime), and sometimes fine-tuning. Agent memory is a system design problem: what to store, when to retrieve it, and how to keep it from polluting the context with stale or irrelevant data.
