A system design where a human is inserted at defined points in an otherwise automated pipeline to review, approve, or correct before execution continues. It is not the same as full manual control — the agent still does the heavy lifting; the human acts as a checkpoint on consequential decisions. Where exactly to place the human is an engineering tradeoff between safety and throughput.
