Emergent Behavior

Capabilities or behaviors that appear in a model or system without being explicitly programmed, typically arising from scale or from the interaction of multiple components. In multi-agent settings, emergent behavior often means the team-level output exceeds what any individual agent was designed to produce. It is a feature worth designing for and a risk worth monitoring — emergence cuts both ways.
